Terms and conditions
Tickets to Museum of the Home Kingsland Road, London, England E2 8EA with registered charity number 803052 (the ‘Museum’) are subject to these terms and conditions. In booking a ticket, or using a ticket, regardless of whether you were the person who booked it, you understand and agree to these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions do not apply to any products listed for sale on the Museum shop website to which separate terms and conditions apply, which can be accessed at https://shop.museumofthehome.org.uk/pages/ts-cs
Any personal details you knowingly provide us with through forms and our email, such as name, address, telephone number etc., whether in booking tickets online or otherwise, will be collected and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which can be accessed here: https://shop.museumofthehome.org.uk/pages/privacy-policy
MUSEUM OF THE HOME DOES NOT OFFER REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES ON TICKETS.
Please note that tickets are valid for use only for the number of people, on the date and time slot appearing on the face of your ticket, and can be used for one admission only.
Tickets must be presented at the point of entry on the day of your visit. You must be over 18 years to book tickets through DigiTickets. You are responsible for entering your details correctly when booking a ticket electronically.
Your visit to the Museum, including to any exhibition or event, is at all times subject to any notice to visitors we post on our premises and to the direction, supervision and guidance of our staff, which may include directions in relation to health and safety. Accordingly, the Museum reserves the right to place restrictions on the volume of tickets ordered, number of places available for events and timed entry into gallery spaces.
The Museum as Licensed Premises
The Museum has a premises licence for regulated activities under Licensing Act 2003, pursuant to which we must:
(a) refuse any person entry (or ask any person to leave), if our security officers believe that person to be intoxicated or behaving antisocially;
(b) apply age restrictions and/or require proof of age identification for entry to some events or the supply of some services;
(c) limit the number of people permitted into our premises at any time; and
(d) refuse to serve alcohol or to supply other services to any person who is intoxicated or behaving antisocially.
At the end of evening events, you are asked to leave the premises quietly and with due consideration for our residential neighbours.
Events
Please ensure you have your booking confirmation e-mail with you as proof of purchase is required and ID may be requested. Supplementary correspondence will not be accepted. Please note we do not hold waiting lists or allow walk ups for events that are sold out. Please contact the Bookings Officer (via bookings@museumofthehome.org.uk) should you have any questions regarding this.
Delivery
Your Booking Reference will be sent to the email address you supplied. Please allow a couple of minutes for this to arrive, and remember to check your junk mail folder if it isn't in your inbox. Please note that we do not send printed tickets.
Please ensure you download your e-ticket to bring on the day of your visit. Please present your ticket on your smartphone to staff on arrival to gain entry into your event or session.
Changes and Cancellation
The Museum reserves the right to:
(a) amend or make alterations to the published details of the event as shall become necessary;
(b) cancel any ticket without notice; or
(c) cancel any event or exhibition without notice.
In any such event, the Museum shall have no liability for any loss of business, revenue, profits, anticipated savings or goodwill (whether direct or indirect) or for any indirect, special or consequential loss of any kind and in each case howsoever arising. Our maximum liability to you shall not exceed the total amount you paid for your ticket. For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in these terms and conditions shall limit our liability to you for death, personal injury or fraud, or any other liability that cannot, as a matter of law, be excluded or limited.
In the event that the Museum decides to cancel an event or a ticket, or the Museum is required to restrict or limit the number of people entering the Museum in any way, the Museum will contact you to offer one of the following options:
(a) where possible, exchange to another date and time for the same event. Where tickets are exchanged for others of a higher value, you must pay the difference at the time of exchange;
(b) exchange to another exhibition or event. Where tickets are exchanged for others of a higher value, you must pay the difference at the time of exchange;
(c) a full refund, issued using the same method of payment that you used to purchase the tickets.
The Museum reserves, in its absolute discretion, the right to contact you through any means available (including, but not limited to, email, phone call or registered post) depending on the information you have provided, if any, when booking the ticket.
Please be aware that, if the price paid for your ticket is refunded due to a cancellation, we will not refund the amount of any donation made at the time your ticket was purchased. As a charity, the Museum cannot refund donations except in limited circumstances, such as if your donation has been made as a result of fraud or misuse or in the event of accidental duplicate transactions.
If you are unable to visit the Museum or attend an exhibition or event because of illness or suspected illness, please contact the Museum via bookings@museumofthehome.org.uk .

Liability for lost items
You must not leave any of your property unattended at any time in the Museum, including in any outdoor areas. We reserve the right to have unattended property removed or destroyed without warning in the interests of safety and security. The Museum shall not be responsible for loss or damage to unattended property.
Online security
Your security is important to us. These pages are hosted on secure servers which encrypt all sensitive data.
Third parties
Nothing contained in these terms and conditions is intended to be enforceable pursuant to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 by any third party.
Severance
If any part of these terms and conditions shall be deemed unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable then that provision shall be deemed to be severable from the terms and conditions and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any of the remaining provisions of these terms and conditions.
Governing law
These terms and conditions are subject to the laws of England and Wales and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
Taxes
All tickets (except donations) within the UK are currently subject to a VAT charge of 20%. The prices on our site are inclusive of VAT.
