Create your own poppet-inspired brooch in this beginner-friendly textile workshop. 

Taking inspiration from dolls in the Museum of the Home collection, you'll discover how storytelling, memory, history and personal expression can be woven into small but meaningful handmade figures. Along the way, we'll explore the fascinating traditions and symbolism behind poppets, and how these tiny creations have been used across cultures to tell stories, mark milestones and carry personal significance. 

Using simple materials, slow stitching and plenty of imagination, you'll experiment with textures, colours and embellishments in a relaxed and supportive environment. By the end of the session, you'll leave with your own handcrafted poppet-inspired brooch to wear, gift, or treasure as a wearable piece of art. 

All fabrics, embroidery threads and embellishments will be provided. You're also warmly encouraged to bring along any special fabrics, buttons, beads or small keepsakes you'd like to incorporate, making your creation even more personal and meaningful.
