The Magic Painting
What happens when stories leap off the page and into colour, imagination, and play? Can a painting become magical?
Join award-winning illustrator Jeet Zdũng for a creative workshop inspired by Echoing Whispers: A Treasury of Vietnamese Folk Tales. Young participants will step into a world of storytelling and art, exploring characters, creatures, symbols, and magical moments drawn from Vietnamese folklore.
Guided by Jeet, children will experiment with materials and techniques inspired by the exhibition and create their own imaginative artworks. Through drawing, colour, texture, and play, participants will be encouraged to invent stories and bring their ideas to life.
Open to children aged 6–13, this workshop welcomes all experience levels, from confident young artists to curious first-time makers.
Parents and guardians are welcome to accompany participants throughout the session.
All materials provided.
Includes a short break.
Limited to 15 places – early booking essential.
This talk responds to the Treasury of Vietnamese Folk Tales display at the Museum. The display is free to visit in The Hive during the Museum’s opening hours. A creative programme of talks and workshops runs alongside the display in June and July.
