AMAMIKYU: Debut LP Launch Spectacle
East London's AMAMIKYU delivers a playful fusion of Okinawan / Japanese folk and psychedelic electronic rock. It is a sound rarely heard: the ancient resonance of the Sanshin meeting soaring vocals, '60s organs, and infectious rhythms—a "Sgt. Pepper-esque" journey through the musical heritage of Okinawa and beyond.
Join AMAMIKYU in this an immersive spectacle of light and sound that celebrates the release of their debut LP on Freaksville Records.
The set features live-action projections from "visual chef" Pat Grimm and award-winning director Reuben Sutherland. Using liquid light, analogue collage, and found objects, they create tactile visuals in constant dialogue with the music, crafting a festive, circus-like atmosphere.
AMAMIKYU is honoured to host this official release party as part of What the Folk? Fest. Copies of the new LP will be available for purchase.
