Willow Platter Workshop with Lisa Dear
In this hands-on workshop, participants will weave a beautiful and useful platter or tray using British-grown willow. They will learn a number of European basketry techniques while discovering the material properties of this fascinating, sustainable natural material. The workshop is suitable for beginners, although good manual dexterity is helpful, and each participant will leave with their own handmade willow platter to take home. Suitable for ages 14 and above, with under 18s accompanied by an adult. All tools and materials are provided. Participants are asked to wear sensible clothing and closed-toe shoes. Lisa will explain and demonstrate the safe use of tools throughout the session. Tables, chairs, and enough space for working with willow will be needed.
