Frame Loom Weaving Workshop

In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the expressive possibilities of frame loom weaving using a curated selection of natural fibres, deadstock yarns, textile selvages and hand-spun materials. The session invites participants to experiment with texture, colour and sustainable materials while learning the fundamentals of weaving on a frame loom. Guided through the process of warping a frame loom and building woven surfaces, participants will incorporate reclaimed textile edges and hand-spun yarns to create richly textured compositions. With an emphasis on material exploration and mindful making, the workshop is suitable for beginners as well as those with some textile experience who wish to expand their weaving practice. All materials are provided, including a range of deadstock yarns, hand-spun fibres, reclaimed textile elements and a frame loom. Participants will leave with their own woven piece, and the frame loom used during the workshop will be theirs to take home so they can continue weaving, finish their piece or start a new one in their own time. Suitable for ages 16 and above, or younger participants accompanied by an adult.
